Jennifer Kim is the Advocate for NJPIRG based in Trenton. Jennifer is a 2005 graduate of the University of Michigan where she spent much of her time as a student activist. She started her work with the State PIRGs as a CALPIRG campus organizer at the University of Southern California where they won campaigns to convert the campus fleet to cleaner cars and hire a campus sustainability coordinator.
Prior to joining NJPIRG she was the Assistant Organizing Director for the CALPIRG Student Chapters based in Los Angeles. Jennifer has also organized at UCLA and the Los Angeles Community College District as well as directed canvass offices across the state. During the 2008 election she worked with Progressive Future to register and mobilize voters in Ohio, Nevada, and Colorado. Since Fall 2010 she has lead NJPIRG’s efforts to: establish a state health insurance exchange, campaign for safe energy and address risks at NJ’s four nuclear plants, and improve public transportation.
