Millennial Leaders Convene in NYC to Discuss Solutions to America’s Critical Social Problems
New York, New York – On Nov. 11-12, more than 120 Millennial civic entrepreneurs and leaders from across the country will convene at the Macaulay Honors College and the New Community College at CUNY to collaborate and share innovative strategies that address the nation’s critical social problems.
Participants in Mobilize.org’s two-day Millennial Leadership Summit will engage in dialogue with local and national civic leaders including Veronica M. White of the NYC Center for Economic Opportunity, Mary Hines of American Express, Scott Heiferman of Meetup.com, Jake Wood and William McNulty of Team Rubicon, and Trish Tchume of Young Nonprofit Professionals Network (YNPN) National among other prominent leaders in technology, social entrepreneurship and economic development.
“Our generation is increasingly looked upon to create solutions to social and economical disparities facing America,” Mobilize.org CEO Maya Enista Smith said. “This summit brings together leaders of all ages from the public and private sectors to discuss what it will take to support this type of change.”
Discussion topics during the summit will include national unemployment and poverty rates, veterans issues and voter engagement for the 2012 presidential elections. The summit will feature keynote speakers in social entrepreneurship and civic engagement fields, leadership development and training opportunities on community organizing, communications/media, fundraising and strategic partnerships.
