Project Summary: To provide individual and specialized assistance to struggling students, a new center will offer personal tutoring, advisement and other types of academic and moral support.

We believe insubstantial academic preparation and inadequate advising, a lack of network support, and/or financial difficulties cause a students to seek employment which may interfere with their collegiate progress and achievement. This is a  major factor preventing students from achieving their scholastic potential. In an effort to solve those aforementioned problems- we propose that a new center and program be created for students who need additional support from the college. Much like MDC’s ACCESS center which provides, arranges, and coordinates accommodations for students with disabilities- we recommend that a similar program be created but for struggling students who need additional individual and specialized assistance with tutoring, advisement, and moral support. The center can also be a colloquial gathering point.
