Project: H.I.Y.A.! – Helping Individual Youths Achieve

Project Summary: The H.I.Y.A.! initiative will work to address the lack of civic engagement and college guidance in the K-12 education that causes low community college graduation rates. The team plans on addressing these issues by establishing a mentoring program involving current successful community college students to mentor high school students. The Miami Dade College students will create service projects to promote civic engagement and provide college guidance through service.
