In November 2011, Mobilize.org will launch its Target 2020 Millennial Meetup Series, featuring conversations and workshops that will engage community college students, school faculty, staff, stakeholders and community members to dialogue about barriers to completing their education, build on solutions identified at the summit and develop new partnerships and leadership skills to collaborate on student success.
Mobilize.org will host community-based workshops led by Millennials on each of the four Mobilize.org programmatic focus areas: Leadership Development, Civic Entrepreneurship, Community Engagement and Digital Literacy. The Meetups will provide skill-building and dialogue opportunities for the Northern California community based coalition. Each Meetup will host approximately 50 participants and take place on community college campuses across Northern California. In addition, portions of the Meetups will be webcast live for online dialogue opportunities.
At the completion of the 4 Meetups, Mobilize.org will prepare a comprehensive report of strategies for student success in Northern California. This report will be shared with local and national stakeholders and supporters to illustrate the priorities and innovative solutions developed by the Millennial-led, community based coalition.
